Well, we're one hour into the trip, and we've already cancelled Amsterdam. We decided that for the amount of money and the limited time we were going to have there it would better to spend two extra days in Paris instead. This decision was made at Sky Harbor Airport over Burger King coffee and crossanwiches. Now we will be able to visit Versailles.
Judging by this photo we're missing a beautiful city. We'll see it next year when we visit Germany.

Great choice! Now you can really explore Paris and not just hurry to see the "highlights". Don't skip getting a fresh crepe from a street vendor. MMMMMMM! Love you guys, Jen
Well, when I first read the title "Amsterdam Cancelled" I was pretty P.O.'d!! I thought to myself, "Those bastard Amsterdaminanians! They must've all gotten together, probably out drinking, and decided not to allow Rob and Troy to visit. Sons-a-bitches!" Then I read further and realized how silly that was! It wasn't the Amsterdaminanians who decided, it was the flippin' King of Burger himself, that son-of-a-gun!! (I've never been to Burger, and I can promise you that I never will. EVER!)
You know, regarding street vendors and crepes.. Beware the "hand-rolled" crepe, especially if the street vendor is "sans la salle de bain." Trust me, he's got to go sometime, somewhere. And if there's no soap...well, let's just say it's gonna be like he rolled your crepe with his "oui-oui." Mmmm. Anyway, I'll bet it's the number one or number two way for a tourist to get sick. Nice, huh. (Get it? France? Nice?)
Just sayin ;)
On the other hand, if you ever come here to visit, know that the vendors in Washington DC take the subject of personal hygiene very seriously. For example, they always wear gloves. Always. They wear gloves while serving food. And while counting money, opening the register, and making change. They wear gloves while scratching their ears, putting on a hairnet, taking out the trash, talking on the phone, etc. Pretty much always. Point is, don't be fooled by the gloves.
Bon appetite!
Enjoy your extra time in Paris!
The street vendor crepe was fortunately made by a very beautiful woman, so you didn't mind if she was wearing gloves or not.
